Java Siluro 6 Top Review
This is a long-term review of the Java Road Bike Siluro 6 Top made by Java; this is a unique bike as it comes equipped with L-Twooshifters and Shimano 105 derailleur. I bought this bike in early May and have been quite pleased with it.
The Unboxing Experience
I went to pick it up the day and the experience is direct from the factory experience the bike is built for you the time you pick it upwhich means you get to see everything with it overall including any type of damage or issues.
Before you leave, they typically got demo bikes or allow you to usethe bike to test it before you leave and allows you to see the comfort of it beforehand so if they got the stock for it they can change the size before you leave.
This specific bike came equipped with:
· L-Twoo RX Shifters
· Shimano 105 Front and Rear Derailleurs
· Decaf Rims NON-Tubeless Ready with 700ccx25 tires
· UCI Certified Frame
· Aero cockpit handlebars
Build Quality
Overall, the build quality is quite good, typically there is alwaysa stigma of people having a hard time believing the quality forbikes from manufacturers from China or other countries but given that they do have the UCI Certificate this frame its quality is onpar with the official racing bikes used by professional riders.
Serviceability
This bike is very self-user serviceable, meaning you can do all theservices yourself if you are equipped with the tools for it.Furthermore, this bike is easy to take apart and put in a travel bagor case for ease of travel.
Travel Bag Compatibility
This bike is easy to travel with in all bags, I tested travel withan Ostrich OS-500 Bag I picked up from Tokyo, Japan in May 2024. Thebike took a 3-hour bus ride multiple times in the bag on twoseparate occasions. With multiple different bus companies whentraveling up to Edmonton and it came without damage after thejourney.
Attention
This bike caught a lot of people’s attention, given that this bikeis not common in Canada, It caught a lot of people’s attention forthe brand and bike in general.
Special Notes
It should be noted that, this bike can be difficult to service withthe L-Twoo parts or uncommon parts. That can be equipped with thebike if you wish to play it safely, I advise with the full Shimanosetup for the bicycle. As the bike shops aren’t familiar with the L-Twoo breaks and shifters.
Some Professional Mechanics will not touch this brand of bike orcertain parts of the bike it’s your responsibility to find outbeforehand to save time and prevent wasted money when servicing.
Durability Test
This bike for the review now has close to 500km of riding so far, Iwould like to note that this bike has had a crash due to a potholeand had taken some damage, but it was only isolated to the seatsaddle which is cheap to get a replacement saddle but with a majorcavate. To replace the seat you must get an aero seat which has thehole in the middle of the saddle as it got a bolt that tightens inthat area.
Conclusion
This bike, being around $1200 Canadian, is a good price and deal foran entry-level bike with aero parts and allows for upgradability beyond what typical entry level bikes offer. If you like to buy thebike, you can order directly from
